The Citizen Science Ocean Data Lab is a hands-on training program that equips volunteers with the tools and knowledge needed to contribute meaningfully to marine research. Participants learn how to collect, record, and analyze environmental data that supports local conservation initiatives.

The mission of the Citizen Science Ocean Data Lab is to empower community members to actively participate in marine science and environmental monitoring.

The program includes:

  • Scientific Training Sessions: Instruction in data collection methods, species identification, and reporting procedures.
  • Coastal Monitoring Activities: Participants assist with water quality testing, wildlife observations, and environmental assessments.
  • Data Submission & Review: Collected information is submitted to program leaders and shared with research partners.

The program welcomes volunteers of all experience levels who are committed to environmental stewardship.
