Shark Tagging and Tracking Initiative
June 28 @ 6:00 am – July 5 @ 3:00 pm

The Shark Tagging & Tracking Initiative is a hands-on research program that allows community members to assist marine scientists in tracking shark movement and migration patterns.
Through field demonstrations, data logging, and tagging support, the initiative enhances public understanding of marine science while contributing to vital research.
The mission of the program is to support shark conservation through research participation and to increase public knowledge of shark behavior and ocean ecosystems.
The program includes:
- Training & Orientation: Participants learn about shark species, tagging technology, safety procedures, and ethical wildlife handling practices.
- Field Support Activities: Volunteers assist researchers during supervised tagging expeditions and shoreline monitoring events.
- Migration Data Tracking: Participants help log tracking updates and learn how data informs conservation strategies.
Participation is limited to ensure safety and quality training.
