Throughout guided activities, experienced educators and researchers from the Shark Tooth Bay Research Institute walk students through how marine research is conducted, allowing students to gain a firsthand insight.
Shark identification workshops, simulated field data collection, shark behavior tracking activities, environmental sampling demonstrations, and marine ecosystem labs are just a few examples of the numerous activities that our programs include. Participants of our programs can learn about recording research data, analyzing findings, exploring case studies, and learning how scientists monitor the sharks in the area. Shark Tooth Bay’s research programs are created with the elementary, middle school, and high school students in mind. Although many programs are designed for students, we also offer programs for community members of all ages. Our camps are open to motivated and curious students from Shark Tooth Bay who are willing to explore marine science in a fun and supportive way. Certain advanced camps or workshops may recommend previous scientific coursework or recommendation letters along with an interest in marine science.
